Frequently Asked Questions
Will the photographic experience cost me anything?
The initial offer above is on us, however you may be asked to pay a fully refundable booking deposit to secure your shoot. Some photographers may also have upgraded packages and offers for you should you wish to accept them. In addition to the one included print, you are welcome to order as many additional images in a variety of sizes and formats directly with the photographer without any pressure to do so.
How many people will be in the shoot with us?
Just your family members and a photographer – sometimes an additional photographer or assistant if training is taking place
I don’t have the perfect shaped bump, can you make me look amazing?
Don’t worry you are in safe hands, our photographers are experts in finding the perfect angles, lighting and positioning to ensure everyone looks their very best.
Do I bring my own clothes to the shoot?
Yes, you are advised to bring your own favourite outfits with you, however some photographers may have some maternity dresses available to and this can be discussed during your pre-shoot phone consultation.
Can I request a female photographer?
Please mention this to your studio when booking, we can’t guarantee 100%, but we have a hugely diverse range of photographers across all genders and will always try to meet your wishes
I might need to feed my baby, is that a problem?
That isn’t a problem, all of our photographers are patient and understand a babies needs.
Do I need to bring props, or do you provide?
We would always advise to bring those special personal items to the shoot, however most of our photographers will also have an abundance of props and wraps available for the newborn and cakesmash shoots.
Does the photographer supply the cake for the cakesmash shoots?
Some photographers do and some don’t, so best to discuss this with your local photographer when they get in touch with you.
My baby has older siblings, can they come as well?
Of course, more the merrier and your photographer will capture a variety of combinations of everyone present at the shoot.

Newborn
A newborn session is a truly wonderful time to capture the special unique moments of the first 3 weeks of your baby’s arrival into the world.
From their tiny toes to their button nose your new pride and joy will be photographed in a variety of the cutest little poses preserving the freshness of this special time before it fades away.
Our highly trained photographers equipped with the finest props and backdrops will create a breathtakingly amazing set of images for you and your family to treasure and ensure you have enough time for feeding and cuddling too. No one gets left out in a newborn shoot as parents and or siblings are more than welcome to join in on the phone too.
Little Sitters & Cakesmash
Don’t panic if you missed the opportunity of a maternity or newborn shoot as our baby and new family sessions are perfect for any stage. From showing off their first tooth to the wobbles of their first steps our photographers will capture the personality of your little ones perfectly.
Alternatively if their first birthday is approaching some studios even offer a cakesmash shoot which start off with baby and family poses and end up in a very messy smashing of the cake which your baby is bound to enjoy.
You are all more than welcome to join in at the shoot as we love capturing that special bond between parent and baby and siblings too. Your photographer will create a variety of beautiful images for you to choose from and help you create memories that will last a lifetime.
