It’s booking appointment week!
This week (give or take) you should get to meet your midwife, which is an exciting step in your pregnancy journey. There will be plenty of questions about yours and dad’s health history and also an opportunity to ask any questions, so jot them down before you go so you don’t forget (yes baby brain may have kicked in by now) – for more information about your booking appointment click here. Baby Baby’s cute little face continues to develop and this week you would be able to see their nostrils and upper lip if you could see what’s going on inside.
Their jawbones are also developing which amazingly contains all their milk teeth, although these won’t push through until a few months old. Their heart is now fully formed and beating very fast, up to 180 beats a minute which is 2-3 times faster than yours. Mum Are your clothes starting to feel a little snug? Your uterus is now the size of an orange making room for baby and so you may start thinking about some maternity wear – check out our pregnancy style article for inspiration.
You may also be suffering from constipation, another lovely side effect of pregnancy.
If this is happening then up your wholegrain, fruit and veg intake and drink plenty of water.
Another thing you may have noticed is an increase in clear or white vaginal discharge, this is perfectly normal. If you notice if has an unpleasant smell, coloured or causes itching then let your midwife know as you may have an infection – to find out more about infections check out our up close and personal article.
